Every hand-made creation is unique. Nature is the role model for our work. Slight changes in dimension and colour tones can occur. To ensure that the product retains its natural, unspoilt character, we do not use any chemicals; instead, we integrate naturally developed shades, marks and stripes into our design concept. The colour of bamboo varies according to type, region, soil, wind direction, harvest time and/or age. Every bamboo cane has its own charm based on its structure, form, colour, shading and speckling. Slight divergences in shadings can occur. These are not subject to EU norms and DIN values; they are subject only to nature. To take one example, speckling on tiger bamboo can take different forms. Occasional light stripes on naturally dark bamboo are an unusual criterion of beauty.
Deviations are therefore neither losses of quality nor grounds for complaint; they are small wonders of nature. They develop while the plants grow as the canes fight their way through the undergrowth, or later when their rods are rubbed violently against each other by a mighty monsoon. In bamboo, nature displays not just its diversity but also its strength. Bamboo is harder than oak and even has a load-bearing capacity to rival construction steel. Similarly, bamboo possesses a tensile strength of 40 kilopond per square millimetre.
